Tax Appeals

Any taxpayer may file a tax appeal on their assessment on or before April 1st of the tax year in question.  The homeowner must contact the Bergen County Board of Taxation at 201-336-6300 to obtain an appeal form or file online at Bergen County Board of Taxation.

Appeals with an assessment in excess of $1 million may be filed directly to the State Tax Court in Trenton.  Appeals of added/omitted assessments must be filed by December 1 with the Bergen County Tax Board.
