Effective September 10, 2024 Ordinance No. 2024-#27 was adopted to Regulate the Removal and Replacement of Trees in the Borough of Waldwick.
No tree shall be removed/cut down without first obtaining a Tree Removal & Replacement Permit from the Building Department. Tree Removal & Replacement Permit Application.
A Qualified Tree is any deciduous tree with a diameter measured at breast height (DBH) of eight (8”) inches or greater or any coniferous tree with a height of 20 feet or greater. (See Ord. No. 2024-#27, 90-7 Permit requirements for Qualified Tree Removal).
If the tree is determined to be a Hazard Tree (See Ord. No 2024-#27, 90-2 Definitions), a Tree Removal Permit is required but there is no fee.
A plan for either replacing or offsetting the Qualified Tree(s) proposed to be removed with the replacement tree(s) location on the property. (See Ord. No. 2024-#27, 90-9 Replacement Tree requirements).

Tree Removal Contractors
Tree Removal Contractors are required to be registered with the Borough and pay an annual registration fee of $250.00. Must also provide COI coverage minimum $1 million property damage and bodily injury insurance per accident; automobile insurance per accident $300,000); and workers compensation insurance.
